Lood Stof
Lood Stof, a solo exhibition by Louis Reith
28 January – 11 March 2017
After a highly successful solo show at the New Art Section at Art Rotterdam 2016 Mini Galerie is pleased to announce Lood Stof, the very first solo exhibition of Louis Reith in his hometown Amsterdam.
The exhibition will present a new body of works, which builds on Reith’s previous series of collages, wood works and drawings. Juxtaposed with bold shapes the artists’ recurring themes such as architectural spaces, landscapes and artifacts are distilled down to their most essential elements. The minimalist images evoke a sense of ceaselessness fuelled by Reith’s search to find a balance between impending loss and the lightness of being.
Louis Reith (Hengelo, 1983) graduated from AKI Academy for Art & Design, Enschede in 2010 and lives in Amsterdam. His work was recently exhibited at Ninasagt in Düsseldorf (DE), Huis Haas in Antwerp (BE), Charlotte Fogh Gallery in Aarhus (DK); The Watermill Center in Water Mill in New York (US), Slow Culture in Los Angeles (US) and Dutton Gallery in New York (US).
On the occasion of the exhibition’s finissage a special limited edition publication by the artist will be launched.
